30 Weeks: Baby #2 Update

I am definitely not as good at this blogging thing in the second pregnancy. I have this little two year old almost constantly needing my attention. Sorry, but not that sorry. I mean, he's pretty adorable and totally worth missing a few weeks of blogging.

How far along? 30 Weeks

How big is baby? Baby girl is about 15 inches long and 3 pounds. She is compared to a head of cabbage, so I guess she's a little cabbage patch kid!

Maternity clothes? Definitely. Regular t-shirts and my go-to fleece are getting quite snug.

Sleep: Every chance I get! Still sleeping well but waking up more often to visit the bathroom and waking up often with a sore back in the am. I have tried my preggo pillow a few times but not liking it as much as I did with Camp.

Best moment this week: (or the last several weeks): 1) Choosing and announcing a name for our sweet girl: Savannah Kathryn! We'll call her Savvie. 2) Passed my glucose test! 3) Had a beautiful baby shower hosted by our sweet Community Group.

Movement: Savvie is still very active. She has been pushing up into my ribs the last few days which is not very fun. She especially likes to do her dance routine after having some sweets!

Food cravings: Fresh fruit and smoothies. Was able to sample all the flavors of Chick-fil-A's new smoothies and love the spinach with pineapple and mango! Also, our buddy Jonathan made these incredible french toast sandwiches stuffed with cookie butter for the shower, and they are pretty much my new favorite of all time!

Food Aversions: Not really

Gender: Still a girl...or at least they haven't told us differently and there is a lot of girly stuff in her closet now!

Pregnancy Symptoms: Getting hard to tie my shoes or bend over to pick up toys; Backaches

Belly Button in or out? In- but started to creep out...

What I miss: Sitting on the couch or lounging in a chair comfortably. I basically have to sit straight up or lie down...putting a pillow or two behind my back helps a little though.

What I am looking forward to: Bachelorette weekend for one of my best friends this weekend and a Baby Sprinkle for Savvie next weekend!

Upcoming appointments/events:  Appointments are every two weeks now so I'll go back for a 32 week check-up on April 7.

Weekly Wisdom: I know I have gotten a couple really good tips lately (not necessarily baby related) but can't recall them now! Typical :-(

Milestones: Third Trimester is here!!!

Bump Picture:
(28 weeks with Savvie and 28 months for Camp happened on the same day, March 11)

Now I know my ABC's...almost!

We have gotten a little alphabet crazy at our house. We have the bathtub letters, magnetic letters, a letter puzzle, Bananagrams, and a love for "Super Why." Since we have done the whole potty training thing, we usually sing the ABC's while washing hands. Camp is usually able to fill in the missing letters when I stop and let him sing, but when he tries to sing by himself, it's often just "A,B,C, X, Y, Z, Sing with me!" Yesterday he was able to belt out almost the whole thing all by himself! See how many letters you can pick out from his song.  And somebody get this kid a microphone!

The Sweetest Thing

I don't have any pictures to go with this post, but I wanted to jot down this sweet story from today that made me such a proud, happy mommy.

Camp and I were leaving the house to go to a play date this morning.  He insisted on bringing his baby doll along too. He somehow tripped on the bottom step in the garage and fell into his new toy lawn mower. He said, "Ow!" and was a little distressed. Immediately after the initial shock, he was very concerned about his baby doll. He said, "Baby Doll crying" and kept hugging and kissing him to make him feel better. He told his baby, "It's okay, Baby Doll, it's okay."

He is not quite this sweet every minute of the day, but it's moments like this that make me so excited to see him as a big brother. And eventually, long down the road, as a daddy to a real baby. :)
