October Fun

October 30 and 31 were filled with fun, costumes, and candy! We had a trunk or treat playdate at the park with our play group. Both kids were so excited to go around and collect candy from each car while wearing their totally adorable costumes. I was holding a friend's baby, so Camp took Savvie by the hand and walked her around helping her get candy. It melted my heart. Until she refused to put a sucker in her bucket and Camp was pulling her down to the ground trying to get her to comply...bless. They got to play on the playground after all the candy and other treats (bubbles were a favorite) were collected. Such a fun (and exhausting) morning!

I grabbed all our decorations from the attic and just threw them in the car. Haha, still looked cute though!

Friends...the two in the middle are obviously better at this posing for pictures thing ;-) But they are all so adorable!

Friday night was the Fall Festival at our church! I took just a few pictures of the kids dressed up with my real camera and the rest with my phone, so all you get is the camera pics because uploading from my phone seems to take too much effort.
perfecting the ghost face...and I'm sure that's the face a peacock makes.

Is that Superman? Nope, it's a crane that's working on our new building at church! Savvie was fascinated.

First mom-made costume! On the fourth year, I did it! Lucky me he really wanted to be a ghost. I appliqued the ghost face, cut the bottom of the shirt with pinking shears, and sewed an easy knit cap out of another t-shirt. I'm sure next year he will want to be a dragon coming out of a working volcano or something fun like that. :)

Not handmade, but how cute is this peacock costume...and it's a family heirloom (ie passed down from my cousin's children)!
Halloween night meant a pizza party with friends and trick or treating! Savvie had a mysterious fever, so she got to stay home with Nonna. She had fun playing with her baby doll while Camp had a date with Jonathan and me to collect as much candy as possible. It was our second year trick or treating with Camp's friend Grady and his mom (his dad and baby brother were there this year). We had a big group of friends from church who joined us this time too. All the children were just precious. It's really a cool tradition we have going now. Thank you to our gracious hosts and the amazing neighborhood where we don't live but like their candy a lot.
