Nursery Reveal: The CAMPground

After months of planning and bargain hunting and handiwork, the nursery is finally ready to show off to the world. There are still a few pieces of artwork to hang and some kind of shelving desired, but I think we're off to a pretty good start for baby. I want to thank my mom for all her hard work with painting the walls and the furniture. Thank you to my husband for funding the $project$ and supplying some manpower. Jonathan was a sport to hang the blinds and the artwork as well as put up the crown molding with help from his dad. A lot of my inspiration came from Pinterest, but there was a lot of frustration as I tried to reach the level of beauty that most of those rooms display. Maybe for the next baby.

Here are several pictures of the nursery before:

Now for the after pictures (cue the oooh's and aaah's):
The perfect swivel rocker found at a Pawley's Island consignment shop

Love the owl pillow I found at Pier One! Go Chi O!

I made these elephant door knobs for the closet doors from a Dollar Tree toy.

A gazillion nurseries are featuring elephants these days so here is my tribute.

A little corner shot featuring a funky lamp I found at Marshalls on sale! Also, I made the crib skirt all by myself :)

This is actually my childhood desk and mirror. Mom repainted the furniture, and I painted the drawer pulls with a somewhat decent chevron stripe design. I think Camp will enjoy looking at himself in the mirror when he gets his diapers changed!

This awesome t-shirt rug from Urban Outfitters adds a punch of color to the room.

This little wall collage will be Camp's first of many reading lessons. We are taking the autograph frame to the hospital for visitors to sign. My best friend, Jen, created the birds and bees art, and friends and family wrote special notes to Camp on it. The family rules "wall hanging" was another great Marshalls find and sums up some of the important things to us.

So there you have it, folks. The CAMPground has been the #1 project at the Howell House as this mama was bound and determined for it to be the best looking nursery it could possibly be. I didn't get a good picture showing the crown molding, so you'll have to come and see it for yourself when it's time to visit our little man. No need to bring a tent!

I've been getting a lot of spam comments, so I hate to do it to you, but I've put the word verification back on so you have to prove you're "not a robot." Please don't let that stop you from leaving a note!
